Jatakheda towers over villages in wind energy
Jatakheda, a disconcerted village in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh is unique from other villages of the State, as it has the distinction of being the first village to have its very own wind energy power constituent.Jatakheda sarpanch Devji Mewara while talking to VivaCity said, “Having lived in darkness all along since Home rule as the village never had regular electricity supply in the village, we directly agreed to the proposal of Manthan, a volunteer organisation to put into effect a wind energy project for the village.”
Bhopal-based Manthan is a communal organisation working especially for the socio-economic upliftment of the sylvan community. The major thrust area where this organisation have so far concentrated embody agriculture technology development, skill development, unworkable harvesting and its conservation and conservation of energy resources and harnessing its capability.
Chief of Manthan Rajat Saxena said, “We first surveyed the arena for wind velocity, formed a team of 18 members, installed windmills and then laid out a cabling network that now transmits vibrations to homes.”
